project wingman

A flight combat arcade-style game in the vein of Ace Combat developed by Sector D2 Games. Set in a post-apocalyptic world following a massive tectonic event, the game's story focuses on a mercenary pilot named Monarch and the company he works for, Sicario. He and his fellow mercenaries are hired by the Republic of Cascadia as they attempt to break away from the hegemonic Pacific Federation. Of note is the presence of a voiced WSO, Prez, should the player fly a two-seater aircraft.

The game was originally released on December 1st 2020 for PC and was later ported on Xbox One and Playstation 5 on October 28th 2021 and October 3rd 2023 respectively. A DLC mini campaign, titled Project Wingman: Frontline 59 was originally released exclusively on the PS5 version of the game before being available on other ports. In Frontline 59, the campaign focused on Division K-9, a squad of Federation reserve pilots who are called into action as the Federation suffers loses from their war with Cascadia. The player takes the role of Driver, as he and K-9 Squad help the retreating Federation forces while fighting off a counter-invasion by Cascadia forces led by General Faust. Like Monarch, Driver also has WSO, Eye-Tee, should the player fly a two-seater aircraft.
