passion flower
Any of the 500 flowering plants belonging to the genus Passiflora.
The Japanese name of the flower, 時計草 (tokei-sō), literally means "clock weed/plant" and comes from the shape of the pistil, which is divided into three sections, somewhat resembling three clock hands. In a narrower sense, it is the name of the specific species, Passiflora caerulea.
