Azur Lane's personification of the eponymous Imperial Russian cruiser.
Historically, she was named after the brig Mercury, who successfully outran and outfought two heavily-armed Turkish ships-of-the-line in 1829. The cruiser was commissioned in 1905 and passed to Ukrainian and Soviet hands before assuming the name Komintern in 1923, named in honor of the Communist International.
Stationed in Sevastopol during the war, she was severely damaged by German airstrikes in 1942 (some sources say she was sunk) and her guns salvaged for coastal use.
