oonusa
A Shinto ritual purification wand which resembles a gohei except with much more paper streamer decorations attached to a wooden staff or sakaki branch (example post #2587183). If the staff is hexagonal or octagonal it is a haraegushi. The oonusa is waved over the person, object or offering in order to transfer the sins and pollutions to it.
