A major Japanese automobile company founded in 1933. Operated in export markets under the Datsun marque until 1984. In 1989 they opened Infiniti to sell their luxury vehicles in America under new branding.
Its flagship model is the Nissan GT-R, the successor to the famed Nissan Skyline GT-R series.
Nissan's official motorsports branch and factory racing team is NISMO.
