nejiri hachimaki
A type of hachimaki made of twisted cloth that is then tied around the head.
Commonly worn in ceremonies and festivals, such as the mizu happi worn by yamakasa carriers or taiko drummers. Chefs can also wear this type of hachimaki, but less often than their flatter counterparts.
Nejiri hachimaki implies hachimaki, which itself implies headband, which requires it to cover the forehead.
