One of the playable classes in Team Fortress 2, real name Dr. Ludwig.

A German man of "medicine" hailing from a lineage of mad scientists from Stuttgart, Germany (although very explicitly not a Nazi). A twisted doctor and biologist who generally considers the healing he provides an unintentional side effect of sating his own curiosity, he is known to have experimented on his teammates in bizarre, occasionally helpful ways. Despite his utter lack of morals, he provides invaluable healing for his team, and has been shown to care about them on some level, though how much of it is as his guinea pigs is debatable. Owns and cares for a number of pet doves, chief among which is his most beloved pet, Archimedes. Often paired with the Heavy, both for their gameplay synergies and in fanart.

The Medic's most important weapon is his medi gun, a ramshackle tube-shaped device that projects beams of healing energy to his team. Once his medi gun has built up enough power, he can unleash the "Ubercharge", causing his patient to become fully invincible for a short period of time, shown by them becoming metallic and glowing their team's color. He also carries a syringe gun for self defense, and a bonesaw as a melee weapon. He has several alternative versions of each weapon, most notably the Crusader's Crossbow, a crossbow that fires large syringes.

The Medic's default outfit includes a large light-colored coat with buttons, team-colored rubber gloves, a thick black belt, black boots over team-colored pants, small round glasses, and a mechanical backpack that connects to his medi gun.
