A character from the Strider science fiction video game from 1989.

Mecha Pon (メカポン), also written Mecha Pong (メカ Pongu), is an enemy robot boss character from the original coin-op and all its ports.

He is basically a giant mechanical gorilla. His name and design are homages to Toho's movie character Mechani-Kong.
