makuta (headwear)
A traditional crown in Cambodia and Thailand. Historically, it was always worn in Java, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Laos and Myanmar.
They're tall and pointed in shape, are made of gold or a substitute, and are usually decorated with gemstones.
The makuṭa has various different names depending on the language, including makuta, mahkota, magaik, mokot, /i]mongkut[/i] or chada.
