The Makarov PM (ПМ, Пистолет Макарова) is a Soviet semi-automatic handgun chambered for 9×18mm cartridge, designed by Nikolay Fyodorovich Makarov. It was adopted by the Soviet military and police in 1951. The weapon is compact and features a simple blowback design influenced by the Walther PP.
