A car specially modified so that it sits very low to the ground, originating in the Mexican-American culture of California.
Lowriders often also sport highly ornamental wheels (typically with wire spokes) and/or body work, showing off the individual owner's work on the vehicle, as well as hydraulic suspension systems that allow the driver to control the ride height.
