Loss, also known as CADbortion, Loss.jpg and | || || |_, is a series of parodies based on a dramatic cartoon strip from the webcomic series Ctrl+Alt+Del in which the female lead suffers a miscarriage, which became a subject of widespread mockery among readers due to the drastic change of the comic tone that Ctrl+Alt+Del usually presented from comedy into drama.
Over time the comic has become the subject of such increasingly subtle and abstract parodies that the question "Is this Loss?" has become a meme in itself. This includes a running gag of including "simplified" reference in the form of | || || |_ lines representing characters in each panel somewhere in the image, or even the image composition itself.
