laser pointer
A small, cylindrical device used in office or classroom contexts that projects a red dot to focus the audience's attention on one point. Also see laser pointer projection, which can be used when the beam and/or dot are visible.
Not to be confused with laser sight, a similarly functioning device that attaches to guns.
