Introduces the concept of a sixth ranger to the team. As well as fantasy elements in Super Sentai, diverging away from the more science-fiction oriented elements of the previous series.

Also notable for being the first Super Sentai series to be adapted into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for international audiences outside of Japan.
