The James Webb Space Telescope is a state-of-the-art satellite-based telescope that was launched on the 25th of December 2021, and will, over the course of a few months, move to the second Lagrange point (L2) of the Earth-Sun system 1,500,000 km (930,000 mi) from Earth, directly opposite to the Sun (in other words on the other side of Earth as the Sun is).
From there it will begin its mission which will hopefully allow us to gather even better data and allow us to look further into the past and formation of the universe than we ever have before.
