Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese submarine I-401. Character design by Shibafu, voiced by Ise Mariya.
She has medium-length brown hair tied to a ponytail, brown eyes, tan skin, and is barefoot. Her default outfit consists of a blue school swimsuit with a name tag, white sleeveless side-tie shirt with an orange sailor collar, and a hairclip patterned off her real-life fins. Her rigging consists of her torpedoes slung to her left side and her real-life conning tower, hangar, and aircraft catapult slung to her right.
Her nickname is "Shioi".
Skins
History
Her model is the Sen Toku-class aircraft-carrying submarine of the same name. The Sen Toku-class were once the largest submarines ever constructed and were originally meant for an attack on the Panama Canal. However, they were never used in any meaningful way as the few completed were only commissioned near the end of the war. The I-401 was sunk as a target off Pearl Harbor on May 31st 1946.
