grabber tool
A tool resembling a pole with a claw on the end (usually with two opposed fingers). Pressing a button on the other end closes the claw, acting as a grabber much like a claw crane or a hand. It can be used to extend one's reach and/or fit through tight spaces, when one's arm isn't enough.
A bulky, robot-hand version is sold as a toy for kids, giving kids extra reach but also just because the appearance is more playful, allowing kids to roleplay like a robot or crab. The claw may be large enough to surround an adult's arms.
For more high-performance extending (usually mechanical) hands, see nobiiru arm.
