gorogoro (sfx)
ごろごろ
*Roll roll...*
Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound of rolling. Most often used to express the *rumbling* sound of "rolling" thunder in the distance, and as such is the usual go to SFX for *bad weather*.
Other uses include:
- Rumbling sound. Less intense than *gogogo*
- SFX for a 'rolling' action, even if it's soundless.
- SFX for 'idling away time'. As though someone is lying on the ground, rolling to-and-fro doing nothing.
- Often this is accompanied with literal rolling.
- 'SFX' for someone or something with a "roly-poly" figure. Most often a fat, small-sized dog.
- A growling sound.
- A purring sound.
Variants include *koro koro*, *goron goron* and multiple different permutations of *goro*, *goron* and *koro* (and other variants). Use this same tag for all of them.
Notable characters
- Ikazuchi (Kantai Collection)
- Often associated with her as a pun on her name (i.e. *rolling Thunder*).
