In most of its iterations, Gamera is an ancient, prehistoric creature that were either genetically modified or mutated. It has an ability to breath fire though stored volatile substance within its body and were able to fly by creating a jet porpulsion out of limb holes. In some depictions, it also has telepathy and are capable of sensing human emotions. Which often causing it to act as a guardian, protecting humanity against other monsters.
