Franklin Delano Roosevelt, commonly known as FDR, was an American statesman and political leader who served as the 32nd President of the United States of America from 1933 until his death in 1945. He was a distant cousin to Theodore Roosevelt.
FDR is the longest serving President of United States, who was elected four times and died a few months into his fourth term. He is well known for leading the United States to overcome two global crises, the Great Depression and World War II. An infection of polio left FDR paralyzed from the waist down, so he is often depicted in a wheelchair, though during his lifetime he made sure to never be seen using one in public.
