Large predatory armored fish of the prehistoric Devonian period. The front of the animal was covered in bony plates; two sharp shear-like blades were used to bite its prey. The largest species could grow up to an estimated 10 meters (33 feet) long and weight more than 3 metric tonnes (6,614 lbs).
