dorsiflexion (wrist)
Bending the wrist far backward, either by means of letting it fall backwards limply, or having it pressed up against something. The opposite of palmar flexion.
Usage examples
- "No thanks"; "I don’t want it" gesture.
- Rejection; "Go away" gesture.
- Indicating towards something. (Note that in Japan, pointing with one's finger may be considered rude, so using the whole hand is a polite/formal alternative).
- "Effeminate poses"; girly running, girly boy, etc.
- "Why?" gesture.
- "Rebellious", "bratty" body language; mesugaki and osugaki.
- "Give it to me" gesture.
- Beckoning; "come here".
- "Hand shrug" / "I don't know" gesture; confusion.
- Stretching poses (e.g post #4390381).
- Shading eyes.
