A gas-operated assault rifle designed in 2009 and manufactured by Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod. The modular design enables users to change the calibre to 5.56×45mm NATO or 7.62×39mm by quick change of barrel with gas tubes, breech block and magazine well.

The CZ 805 BREN was created to supplant the Sa vz. 58 in the Czech Army, which later sprung some variants of this rifle; CZ 807, CZ BREN 2, CZ BREN 2 BR (7.62mm NATO battle rifle) and CZ BREN 2 PPS.
