A cordless phone, also known as a portable telephone, is a landline telephone with a portable battery powered handset, which are larger than a cellphone. The handset connects wirelessly to a radio base station that is directly connected to the landline. Cordless phones are charged either in small charging cradles (ex: post #1834655) or a larger base station (ex: post #1420950).
