charles ii of spain
Charles II of Spain (6 November 1661 – 1 November 1700) was the last Habsburg ruler of the Spanish Empire during the late 17th century. As a result of the Habsburgs constant inbreeding within their family to prevent rival noble families from gaining their power, Charles was born with several illiness which he inherited from his ancestors, including the Habsburg Jaw, which made him weak, mentally unstable and was unable to sire an heir. His death led to the War of the Spanish Succession between France and Austria over who would rule Spain.
