bv p170
An unarmed high-speed bomber proposed as a design study by the German firm of Blohm und Voss in 1942. It had an unusual three-engined design, with one at the front of the fuselage and one in a large nacelle at each wingtip, the crew compartment at the rear of the fuselage, and no vertical tail (only small tail fins on the engine nacelles). Impressively, this was not the weirdest design proposed by Blohm und Voss during World War II; unlike the BV 141, the P 170 was at least symmetrical.
The P 170 was intended to be so fast it could outrun enemy fighters, and so would not need to be armed. The Luftwaffe was not interested, and neither proposed variant ever reached even the prototype stage.
