bulletproof vest

A vest designed to protect the torso from bullets and shrapnel.

The armor can be made of Kevlar, hard ceramic/polymer scales, or a mix of the two. It may have a plate carrier, to hold removable armor plates or panels.

The vest is sometimes covered in MOLLE/PALS webbing to allow the mounting of ammunition pouches or other general purpose pouches.
