borscht (food)
A soup of Eastern-European origin, eaten in countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Poland, etc.
It gains its distinctive red color from the use of beetroots and it also contains many vegetables such as carrots, cabbages or potatoes and chunks of meat. It's most usually served with smetana/sour cream.
Although its most known variant is red borscht, yellow, green and "white" variants exist, all under the same name.
Commonly seen with Russian characters or kanmusus.
