The main protagonist of spinoff Gundam manga Ecole du Ciel. She is also one of the franchise's earliest female protagonists.

Asuna Elmarit is a student from École du Ciel, a military school for training future mobile suits pilots in Montréal, Canada. Unexpected events occur, exposing Asuna and her classmates to the reality that is war.

She pilots several types of mobile suits, including the Le Cygne, a Gundam which became her signature mobile suit.

Her character design resembles that of Takaya Noriko from Top wo Nerae!, which also has Mikimoto Haruhiko as character designer.
