arare (kancolle)
The ninth ship of the Asashio-class Japanese destroyers in Kantai Collection.
She is a timid girl with short black hair and brown eyes. She wears a hat, a short-sleeved white shirt, a skirt with suspenders and black kneehighs.
Her self-introduction is "霰です……。んちゃ、とかは言いません……。よろしく…… (I'm Arare… I don't say something like "N-cha"… Thank you…)". However, she often says that phrase unthinkingly.
The historical Arare was sunk by USS Growler, in one of the few successful early war submarine attacks by the US Navy. Off the Alaskan coast at Kiska, Commander Howard W. Gilmore fired a spread of 4 torpedoes against Arare, Kasumi and Shiranui. Every torpedo hit, and Arare was sunk immediately, while the other ships were so badly damaged they had to be towed all the way back to Japan.
Her voice actress is Miyakawa Wakana.
