anti-materiel rifle
A rifle that can be used against targets other than humans, such as parked aircraft, soft-skinned or lightly-armored vehicles, ammunition dumps, and the like. Usually has caliber of 12.7mm (.50) or larger.
They are essentially very large sniper rifles. Though not specifically designed for anti-personnel use, they are sometimes used in that role.
