Alpha is a female character designed by Findo as the anthropomorphic representation of the Russian Empire, first appearing in 2018 as an anime mascot for the Russian nationalist online publication "Sputnik and Pogrom", whose logo she bears on her left arm on an armband.
She gained greater notoriety in 2022 after the start of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. She would be drawn opposite to Marichka, and characters made in her wake, such as Levchenko Ahapiia Oleksandrivna, sometimes paired with characters made on her side, such as Buhanka-chan.
Alongside her creation, a Russian-based collaboration group was also created in 2018, comprising of multiple artists and animators, who are working on an animated project centered around her, referred to as "Alpha 1918", otherwise known as the "Russian Anime-Project".
