a-10 thunderbolt ii
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a straight-winged twin-tailed subsonic jet that entered service with the US Air Force in 1977. It is powered by two turbofans mounted in pods above the fuselage. Designed exclusively for close air support, the single-pilot Warthog can carry copious amounts of bombs, rockets, and missiles, but its best-known features are its GAU-8 Avenger cannon and its ability to tolerate battle damage and remain operational.
