Widely remembered for being the target of the first ever nuclear weapon attack in August 6, 1945. The B-29 superfortress bomber Enola Gay dropped the atomic bomb "Little Boy", a nearly 1 short ton (9,700 pounds) Uranium device with a blast yield of 15 kilotons, in the early morning of that day.
