I think part of the problem is that people instantly think imageboard = 4chan style rules. Just my two cents.
Also, to expand on

Admin comments should have a +10 vote count or a rating lock or something to prevent this.
Would it be possible to implement a 4th button for mods and such that says "post as mod" and give the comment a green background. It would also disable the vote up/down links for that comment and perhaps display it at the top of the thread. Reasoning behind the extra button is not all post by mods are going to be for mod related issues, thus allowing them to post as a regular user most of the time. Just a thought.

I don't think anything like that is necessary, as Janitor+ comments can no longer be down-voted.

Hm, guess you can't actually (I honestly did try on a comment of yours for a deleted image so there would be no harm done, gave me the "already voted" message. I'm a programmer myself and honestly, finding bugs in others code is a bit of a guilty pleasure.). The reasoning for the diff colored post would be that it would be more easily noted and not lost in the spam.
eerr, im not janitor but i think this is too much

Agreed on needing something to distinguish janitor+ level posts from other comments.
I made a trac for that a year ago. In the meantime, my miscellaneous Greasemonkey script can apply different styles (by default, different colors) according to user level. It's a very nice feature to have.

alright first of all my apoligies spamming between with the rest at post #531322
just seemed like fun or something to tag along with whatever happened there.
I'm so glad the ban has lifted and it couldn't have been longer, thanks jxh.
If I may suggest, I never saw the warning comment in the first place, so that kinda gusted me out the sign "despite warnings".
So while I got banned, I wonder why janitors' comments aren't stickied or colored and un-downvoteable ?
IMO people spot these warnings much better if this was the case, instead of a mear normal comment between the so-many.
And now i'm gonna enjoy my time here again, have alot to catch up again :D
Unsure if post #815859 comes under comments spam, however users are extremely hostile towards each other and don't seem to be using the spoiler tags quite well.
I've already given two users a neg for their hostile attitude.
Intervention?

Please point out people who spoil. They will be banned. In this and any post. Spoilers are absolutely against all our policies, anyone incapable of understanding that deserves what they get.

They seem to be the spoilers within post #815859.

You did not help the flaming in that post. You've been given a neg for your attitude and hostility.
Not sure if its comment spam, but reaching 28 comments with mostly biting each other with the meaning of magical lyrical animes seems to be heading straight for it
