This has to be the worst cop-out from drawing hands ever. I know it's chibi and all, but c'mon.
The chibis in the Saki ED do the same thing.

Hello. I'd like post #520610 reconsidered. I think is a fine example of official art. I really hope is approved.
Thanks
Why was post #523035 deleted when post #522929 was approved? I know it's guro, but there's supposed to room for discretion in that rule (as the approval of the other post shows). And also, it's not fair to delete something without even giving it the usual three days in the mod queue.
I'm responsible for the deletions, if there is a consensus here that they should be re-instated, then I suppose they should be. They are well drawn pieces, but they are very very blatant TOS violations. I tried undeleting and flagging them, but that doesn't work.
In retrospect I probably should have just let them go, but I mean really, they are about as graphic as guro gets. Many things have been outright deleted (without the 3-day wait) for being guro without being nearly so visceral.

You must be unfamiliar with guro, my friend. post #496858 is as graphic as it gets.

those are absolutely violations of our ToS. No ifs ands or buts about it.
Presumably the mod who approved the first post doesn't think it violates the ToS. Why does your opinion outweigh theirs?
It's fine with me if you or Shinjidude or anyone else doesn't want to approve these, but it bothers me that the judgment of whomever did approve the first one is being overridden. I thought mods generally aren't supposed to second guess each others' approvals.

Yes, well I typically avoid guro where I can.
Anyway, like I said if there is a consensus here to keep these pics, we should overturn my decision.
You are right to say that mods & janitors shouldn't override each other, but on the other hand posts are supposed to follow the ToS. Borderline posts can sometimes be given leniancy, but those posts are hardly borderline.

I fully support Shinjidude's deletions.

Let's not go there.
Presumably the mod who approved the first post doesn't think it violates the ToS. Why does your opinion outweigh theirs?
Because there's no two ways about it. It is guro in a way that leaves no room for a second opinion. There's no way you could count evisceration as good, clean family fun.
It's fine with me if you or Shinjidude or anyone else doesn't want to approve these, but it bothers me that the judgment of whomever did approve the first one is being overridden. I thought mods generally aren't supposed to second guess each others' approvals.
Generally they aren't. But that doesn't change the fact a post clearly violating the ToS has been approved, and it shouldn't have been. Y'see, I like guro. So I will generally let borderline cases slip by, won't actively delete things that aren't very much against the ToS, etc. It's one of the consequences of being a mod that you get to decide how exactly the rules will look in practice.
But, if something violates them to the extent the posts in question do, I will put aside my tastes and enforce the ToS. Sure, I don't mind them, they're technically correct and nicely drawn and overall very fine posts. But we have the ToS for a reason. I might have to sacrifice my personal preferences in this case, but in exchange I get a reasonably stable promise that someone else won't let, say, scat in. And that's a good deal if you ask me. Danbooru has always[1] been about being selective and sacrificing some potential variety in exchange for consistently high quality. Even if it means that sometimes we get to delete posts we personally like.
[1] By which I mean "ever since we had the moderation process in place". I'm completely discounting oldbooru here, as it had no rules and no policies to speak of.

this pool. It's a cute, quirky, translated comic by genocide_kitten.
