Does "character_(cosplay)" always imply "character"?

Wondering if this is the case, such as a recent post #1265616. Does cosplaying as a character imply that the character themself gets tagged as well?

Yes you should use the accompanying tags of character and cosplay.

Cameo is the opposite iirc, but I also believe they were supposed to be nuked because their usefulness is virtually zero.

From what I remember, we nuked them because we could never decide between usefulness (not using the accompanying character tag, since _(cameo) was originally intended to be when characters so small and insignificant to really justify having them tagged as a full character in an image) and uniformity (keeping it the same as _(cosplay) tags pretty much defeated the original purpose).

Personally, I still don't agree with _(cosplay) tags having the character tag, but, policies.
