I usually give priority to the Pixiv name unless it's jacked up. So in this case I'd go with appleq, creating an artist entry for it, and then moving the yana_(trainchicken) posts over.

Well, the one of the name translations for those kanji on WWWJDIC is Keito, and the artist username is keitomokomoko, so it's most likely Keito.
Since Keito is already taken, you could go with keito_(keitomokomoko)...

keitomokomoko seems good enough, thank you.
So trying to figure out the artist tag for this is giving me a migraine. The artist is TARO, and their Twitter is listed as taroumaru. My problem is that:
1)"taro" is taken as an artist tag, and lowercase-ization screws up my edit, and
2) "taroumaru" is taken as a character tag.
How do I tag the artist for this?

The former is his name, and the latter is the name of his website/circle.

Well, I would personally just rename it and move all of the posts over, especially since there aren't a lot of posts. There is also the extremely slow nature of alias approving nowadays... :/

和菓子 translates to Wakako... the qualifier is alright though. You'll want to create an artist entry, just so that future uploads get collated under that artist.
