These three are just okay in my opinion, but I feel like they're still good enough to be approved, and they serve to show how far the artist has come over the years when placed next to his later works.

Last and possibly least, I was hoping to hear opinions on this batch. Everything I've uploaded from this artist has ended up deleted, and I'm not sure why. The quality seems fine to me, aside from the uninteresting background, and their takes on classic kaiju is cool. Is the subject matter just not appealing?

The quality of the parent is superior. It has fewer jpg artifacts than the child post. That's the most likely reason why the file size is larger.

Was it the subject matter of the art that is the reason that this was not approved? This art is by the same artist, and quality-wise, it's fine art and even surpasses earlier approved art for this artist in terms of quality. Are approvers and moderators just less likely to approve of art dealing with bdsm/spanking/ryona and the like?

Me again, any answer for why these images are just not possible to pass? Many of this artists other work got approved and these are just good if not better in quality.

Most of those posts were approved automatically. The users that uploaded them were at least Contributor level at the time. Users at that level are allowed to skip the mod queue if they want to. This can occasionally result in active posts that are slightly lower in quality than what normally makes it through the mod queue. See help:users for more information.
