Original means that one artist created something on their own that has no specific copyright. Even in realistic or still_life art it's okay and not really off-topic.

I figured that posts that aren't anime-style (realistic or still_life) and aren't "anime-related" (original) are, by definition, off-topic.

Danbooru is primarily for original anime-style or anime-related artwork. "Anime-related" is a broad term that includes anime, manga, videogames, original artwork, and other similar material.

Don't take the wiki pages to serious. We also don't allow rule 34 porn or furry content and still people upload it. The fact is, that Danbooru is a imageboard that focuses mostly on anime, but we allow most good looking content.
The wiki pages are mostly outdated and should be updated, but no one really wants to do it, because there are a lot of them. So if you see that much realistic or still_life images, it's not because people are willingfull breaking any rules, it's because the upload and approving behaviour changed and we do allow such images most of the time.

Note that the wiki only says that the following are off-topic

The following things are considered off-topic:

Real life pornographic photos or videos, such as Western porn actresses or Japanese AV idols.
Real life photos that have nothing to do with anime, manga, or videogames.
Low effort or unoriginal memes.
Western cartoon porn or rule 34 porn.
Western furry content.

Your post is not in this list.

No, in this case that wiki is correct. It was written last year by Evazion after restructuring the site rules.

To clarify, first "original" means "fanart" (or perhaps more expansively "not drawn in a professional/commercial capacity"), while the second means "original copyright" (i.e. characters and/or setting an artist comes up on their own, not directly based on an established copyright).

post #4557644 (uploaded by @kia'ra about 5 hours after me, approved)

The only difference is that mine is sourced from twitter and kia'ra's is from pixiv, along with the associated filesize and filetype difference. Is the pixiv/.png difference really weighed that much more that the initial upload doesn't get approved for at least five hours?

This isn't the first time it happened.

Usually if a worse-quality version is pending while a higher-quality version is already uploaded, it won't be approved. A couple of approvers will approve the worse ones if they were uploaded first, but other than that you just got unlucky.

Not an approver but
1. Legs look less well-done than the upper body and the feet don't look great
2. Probably because of the hand
3. Ears look kinda weird but I think it's passable, approvers probably just didn't care for it
4. Hair is very big and the hand looks really bad

Fair enough

post #4552134 - clothing and background are too flat, no shading. Overall just too amateurish
post #4552142 - lower back does not connect to hips in a very jarring way
post #4552757 - this one is actually quite nice in my opinion. But if you look at the meta tags, the source has a better version than what you uploaded, that may be why it wasn't approved. If you're not using the bookmarklet you should be
post #4552122 - the leg is very bad
post #4552128 - the placement of the mouth is off-putting, otherwise its alright
post #4551428 - low res, face is really bad, too much distance between spine and front of stomach

Thanks.

The mouth and hands ruin it for me. The tongue makes no sense, and the hands are too rough, especially the right one.

I agree on the hands but I don't think the tongue is problematic for an anime style
