Allow me to explain what I think happens if this is approved-
Saimon_ma and doomfest's prior tag history transfer to softmode.
Saimon's prior tag history transfer to simon_(kappa_no_kawanagare).
Both softmode and simon_(kappa_no_kawanagare) now possess the combined tag history for posts which were once tagged as far back as the earliest instance... Wait no.
I wanted to coalesce the entirety of the tag histories pertaining to the artist softmode, and the artist simon_(kappa_no_kawanagare), with the respective duplicate artist tags that exist. However, I'm only now realizing this MAY or MAY NOT make interpreting the history of these tags a little harder if the system says "x post from 40 years ago was tagged softmode." despite the name softmode not appearing in danbooru's database a long time after the first post.
I.e, we tagged something doomfest ten years ago, but if aliased and coalesced- The database will say this was tagged softmode ten years ago. Which would be highly inconsistent and troublesome for true discernment of the history- due to softmode only having been created a long time after.
