Took this opportunity to look over all the names without colons in topic #26857 and... it'd actually be wrong to add colons to any of them. Wikipedia is wrong in some cases, and MAL/ANN/AL in others.

MAL and Wikipedia both romanize it as Akakichi. Trying to search for your version also makes the google autocorrect kick in, so that's enough to consider this the wrong romanization.

Understood. I have no complaints, but let me write my rationale that my proposal is correct as far as romanization is concerned.

“Akaki_chi” is not a proper noun, a Japanese word meaning "red blood". It is a variant of "akai_chi" (red blood). It is not a single word like "kuroneko" (black cat).

In white_dog, white is an adjective and dog is a noun.
In Japanese, when an adjective is followed by a noun, it ends in i(い).
