Many uploads tend to come from regular users who understand how the uploader works, and don't often need to manually drag and drop a file. There are however, many a case where posts' sources are simply 20250310.jpg or catdance.webm. In the interest of better sourcing, or simply to indicate that there lies extra details in a source- I propose a metatag for filename source. This would be automatically applied to any post containing a source that ends with a filename extension that isn't a URL. The benefits are as follows:
- Searching for this tag to attempt to locate better sources if any apply (i.e, determining which booru d34e4cf0a437a5d65f8e82b7bcd02606.jpg comes from, or using the structure of ERz2PlIU0AUeXiY.png to give a rough guess on when it was posted to Twitter.
- Indicating the source field contains special text. Maybe dated filename, korean filename, krita filename could come of this.
- Simply separating non-web sources with text only, file names, or none at all is a valuable tool.
