Regarding Persona qualifiers

Posted under Tags

The tags for Persona's Personae were a bit of a hot mess. Many lacked qualifiers, others were instead qualified as (megami tensei), which can create confusion with SMT demons of the same name, sometimes even linking to the wrong tag. Some even had duplicate tags, one qualified as (persona) and the other as megami_tensei.

I've fixed most of this mess, but what's left is the incosistency of the persona qualifier itself. Some use the instalment number (e.g. Arsene (persona 5), Take-Mikazuchi (persona 4)), while others just use (persona) without a number. So what should be the prefered way to unify these? Numbers or plain persona?

One other thing: Palladion, Athena (megami tensei), and Ariadne (megami tensei) all have one banned post each left, so someone who can edit banned posts should update their tags there.

I think the number qualifier is only necessary in cases like these where there's more than one character with the same name in the franchise. As long as there's nobody else named Arsene in Persona that Arsene (Persona 5) could be confused with, the qualifier can probably safely be shortened.

Next time you should submit a BUR to alias the tags instead of manually changing them, though.

I fixed the posts mentioned above but that made me realize we have both Athena (Persona) and Pallas Athena (Megami Tensei) which is the same character with a few differences.

I wouldn't consider them the same characters for danbooru purposes. and in-universe/franchise they're not either. Persona (summon) and Demon (megami tensei) are distinct enough in the context of fan art, fanbase discussion, artist commentaries etc.
They're just in the same article on the SMT wiki for that wiki's convenience/purposes, that's about it

and yeah I agree with OP. the simple (Persona) qualifier should suffice

And in case of between different Persona games, we can specify the appropriate qualifiers. But overall, the (Persona) qualifier is sufficient.
