Utility alias.

i'm not sure if https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/7495085?q=indian_style+floating and similar would qualify under invisible_chair but they very much are sitting in midair

I'd say those posts count.

Per the wiki, invisible chair is for either the appearance of or an actually invisible chair. An alternative tag provided is floating. I like the idea of a utility alias but - forgive my pedantia - "sitting in midair" sounds weird grammatically. I'm not fond of the phrasing. Upvote nonetheless.

Invisible chair is supposed to be for when the artist draws a character in a sitting position without drawing an actual chair or background, not for literal invisible chairs or characters literally floating in midair.
