Ever since Irys officialy joined Council back in October 2023 to form Promise, the name Council hasn't been used anymore in any official manner. Updating this tag to reflect that would make sense.

The problem with that is that Sana has never been a member of Promise. She's a member of Council. Promise was formed after she graduated, and she's not listed as a member of it. The official site lists both groups separately, with Council consisting of the original five members sans Irys, and Promise excluding Sana.

We could either do a reverse alias or split the tag into 2 like with holofive / nepolabo

Initially, I downvoted it, but it actually seems fine. If a band renames, the tag should often be aliased to the new name, even if it changes its roster to have different members. Like if BLACKPINK got renamed to PINKBLACK, would you NOT alias it?? Let's use the most current group name, even if there were posts tagged as the old group name.

In a similar situation, counter-strike: global offensive renamed to counter-strike 2. CS2 has stuff the first game didn't, but that's fine. So I upvoted this.

Status quo is fine too. Or you can treat it like an Overwatch 1/Overwatch 2 situation and split it; whatever.

I really don't see the point of this, especially since during Fauna's grad they still mentioned Council, CouncilRyS and Promise

of course, it's a different situation from nepolabo and holofive due to how those group names literally reflect the members

But, like I mentioned before, Bae mentioned during Fauna's grad stream that they will always be Council, CouncilRyS and Promise

I saw, but that was more sentinmental than official, really; I would not consider that throwaway line in any important decision even though some tags reflect unofficial/casual groupings

like if PINKBLACK said "we'll always be BLACKPINK!!" or if the Calgary Flames (hockey team) said "we'll always be the Atlanta Flames!!" (former name)

I'd say we should make split tags since:

• Irys was never an official part of Council and the whole CounciRys thing was never quite official but still official enough that we allowed tagging it
• Sana was never part of Promise, also if people wanted to find posts of the actual members of Promise they would have to search holopromise -tsukumo_sana which is just silly
• As blindVigil pointed out, they are officially considered different units by Cover themselves

mass update holocouncil -tsukumo_sana irys_(hololive) -> -holocouncil holopromise

Something like this then.

holocouncil has been used as a group tag long after Promise was formed on several posts, so this should properly populate the holopromise tag.

I'm down for this, especially since we got NePoLaBo and holoFive as separate tags after Mano graduated
