Tagging original characters

Should original characters have their own character tag if the artist depicts the same original character in multiple images?

As long as it's a recognizable design, making a chartag is acceptable. If there's no officially confirmed name, a very short description, qualified with the artist name, works too (see black-haired_demon_girl_(shimmer) for example).
