What should “double dakimakura” be for?

Posted under General

There seemed to be some confusion about what the double dakimakura (medium) tag is for. It was used on some posts that showed two characters on a single dakimakura and on some posts showing the same character on both sides of a double-sided dakimakura.

Now, @coveredby unilaterally decided that the tag should only be used for two characters on a single side of a dakimakura (post #3826130) or two characters on different sides of a dakimakura (post #3745272). The same character on both sides of a double-sided dakimakura should be tagged multiple views instead.

The user also created a wiki article with that definition and proceeded to mass-tag posts (using a script instead of creating a BUR), apparently adding the tag to a bunch of posts from 2girls dakimakura_(medium) and removing it from everything (non-deleted) in 1girl double_dakimakura_(medium).

Any opinions on this usage? Is this tag even useful in the first place? At the moment, it looks like a shortcut for 2girls dakimakura_(medium). The alternate usage for the same character on both sides is basically dakimakura_(medium) multiple_views, so maybe the tag should actually be nuked instead?

Use double dakimakura for dakis that have two characters in them.

I have begun editing tags on the basis of the last sentence of dakimakura_(medium).
I created the article double_dakimakura_(medium) so that later tag-editors would not be confused.

Some 2girls dakimakura_(medium) are consist of the same character with different pose or clothes.
I personally think the above 2girls tag should be tagged 1girl multiple_views.
However, in light of 1girl and 2girls wiki pages, it should not be forced to changed.

Therefore it can not be mechanically determined that 2girls dakimakura_(medium) is 1girl multiple_views dakimakura_(medium) or 2girl double_dakimakura_(medium) dakimakura_(medium) . BUR is not appropriate in this situation.
