artist does not want to be associated with old works.

BUR #33748 has been approved by @Unbreakable.

remove alias ouchface -> hakusekirei

User does not want to be associated with old handle as it does not represent their current work at all and are uncomfortable associating with it. When I contacted this artist they expressed that they're baffled how this assumption was even made in the first place. It makes them horribly uncomfortable.

sorry if this is the wrong place to post this I just searched for the solution and got this.
also, the artist does not have an account on this site but i know them if that means anything to make this actually happen.

putting it here as well that it was my fault for impulsively linking their pixiv and kinda messing this up.

Updated

Sorry for posting this twice, i replied to a 3 year old thread not knowing how the forum post system worked.
I will add the artist told me they are very uncomfortable and feel like they're being stalked given the fact that they felt there is no way that alias is associated with them.

EDIT: it was my own fault that i thoguht associating the pixiv id wouldn't do this. my bad.

Updated

Looking at the histories, it looks like oyu added the URL https://www.pixiv.net/users/9995829 to hakusekirei. This Pixiv user ID was already present on the ouchface artist entry, with the old stacc name ouchface. Apparently this stacc name was changed to kuromaame0 so someone came along and merged the two entries, as this is standard procedure.

In cases like this we can separate the artist entries in order to keep the identities separate at the artist's request, so I hope that this suffices.

Please do not remove the tag manually or change the artist URLs without prior discussion though.

sorry about that. they were just panicking over this and i wanted to help because they were creeped out and felt stalked.
in the end, they also told me that they'd realy like for their art to be completely taken off the website, but i don't know if that's possible without legal procedures or them actually owning an account. What should i tell them?

I feel awful for even posting this in the first place.

There was no assumption; you added a link that ended up getting shared by two artist entries so they were aliased together, that's how things work here; see topic #7713. It's not creepy, it's standard - there's a notification at the top telling you that an entry is a duplicate if you save changes with a link shared by two artist entries, and they should therefore be aliased. As above points out, though, we are able to separate entries per an artist's request/wishes.

It's not as big a deal to be upset by - we don't stalk artists, we just see a red notification telling us an entry is a duplicate and thus merge them together. A simple request put through asking for a correction is good enough.

I didn't realize that the pixiv link, but i didn't realize that it would cause this. that's my own fault and i'm very sorry about that, I just wasn't very attentive. I do genuinely apologize for panicking myself when this was my silly fault. thank you for making the change, though the artist does still want their works removed from the site in the end since they don't want the attention.

No worry at all. You're fine, nothing to feel awful about, it's all around quick fixes when an admin is able to see the request and accept it.

my only question now is the thing about them wanting their art wiped...
there's only so much i know i can do as a person that made the mistake of reposting some of the works in the first place and i don't think that i can personally ask for it given i'm not them.

All I will (and can) say is see the Contact button at the bottom of any page. I can't help you any further on that topic, and the artist themselves - not you - must be the one to find a resolution to that issue.

That's fine. they said for now if the names are separated they're fine with that.
sorry again for the inconvenience that I caused, i felt really bad for it (and despite that, i still do...)

No worries. The old posts have been put under a separate artist tag, so hopefully the problem is solved now.

Thank you
I do have one more question, is it alright if i remove the pixiv links from the artist profile page since they told me that they'd like that, or is that another thing that they'd have to request to have changed themselves? :BlobSweat:

really sorry about this, i kinda got in trouble for linking the pixiv stuff in the first place so i want to do my best to fix what i did haha...

The links are already separated into their respective artist entries, so nothing more needs to be done.

If the artist still wants their art removed, they must file a DMCA request. This will not apply to their artist tags, though. Only the works they specifically request to be removed.
