Renaming Character to Correct Name

Posted under Tags

Did the artist ever refer to this character as Kouhai-chan, like as a placeholder name before finalizing Ame-chan? Is it a well-known nickname of the character? If either of those are true, this should be an alias so users can use the old name to find this character.

And is there a reason these characters have the -chan suffix and not just called Ichigo and Ame?

Actually, you’re right about Kouhai-chan being used previously in the Japanese commentary of older posts. And I think aliasing them instead of renaming would make a lot of sense. She could indeed just be aliased as Ame then!

This was my first bur, so information like that is good to look for in the future, thank you!

BUR #31574 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create alias ichigo-chan_(mignon) -> ichigo_(mignon)
create alias shiro-chan_(mignon) -> shiro_(mignon)
create alias oshiego-chan_(mignon) -> nanami_(mignon)
create alias sarah-san_(mignon) -> sarah_(mignon)
create alias yoru-chan_(mignon) -> yoru_(mignon)

Removing the suffix from the rest of the names. Tights-chan and Library Committee-chan are excluded since I haven't found any official names for them and suffixes are usually appropriate for cases like those. Not sure if some of these would be better as renames instead.

It's also odd that the wikis state that "-chan" is being used as a placeholder as if the suffix was an important part of the name.

The proof that Oshiego-chan's name is Nanami is in post #7828378.
